DISTRIBUTION NEWS Walkers strikes up distribution double
Suspension label RST joins the Claud Butler portfolio MTB Parts kicks off trade with Prowell Helmets By Mark Sutton
WALKERS CYCLES, EVOKE AND HIPLOCK Walkers Cycles has secured a distribution double, with the addition of Evoke and Hiplok to its portfolio. Evoke is an exclusive for Walkers Cycles
and targets the pocket money BMX components market. With stock already at the distributor’s HQ, dealers now have access to 16 different components, all available in black, white, blue, red, purple or gold. Various chrome-moly handlebar dimensions and thicknesses are available, with rises as tall as 9.5 and two width options. A number of pedals will be on offer for
riders on a budget, including transparent plastic pedals particularly popular with those customising their bikes. You’ll also find pivotal style seat and seat posts, machined lightweight stems, a half link chain, tensioners, an aluminium u-brake and a number of brake pad and grips to choose from, again in a variety of colours.
Owned by Plus 8 Industries, Hiplok is a young security label launched only in March last year. Touted as ‘The Original Wearable Lock’, the unit is worn around the waist much like a belt. It is a Sold Secure-rated lock with an
integrated and fully adjustable belt fixing, allowing the rider to tighten the lock around the waist without actually locking the device. The choice of reflective and bright coloured logos provides added safety for night riding. 01162 833885

MTB PARTS AND PROWELL HELMETS MTB Parts has secured exclusive distribution rights to Prowell Helmets in the UK. Claiming to have a proprietary molding
technique, Prowell believes it has found a new method to create deeper ventilation channels and reduce weight. Called ISC technology the inside-out scooping moulding method is exclusive to Prowell’s EPU In-Mold2 production. Furthermore, ISC’s creation, we’re told, has helped the manufacturer make strides in heat dissipation and profiling, with a thinner, more compact shell being one of the perks. Prowell helmet also offers a ‘shark fin’
LED for its helmets, which can be seen from all directions and is attached via a simple quick release mechanism. Prices start at £18.99 retail and top out at £69.99. MTB Parts: 07956 980020
