Stepping out to support charity

A

CHARITY event organised by a Dronfield dancer raised almost £2,500 for the British Heart Foundation. Around 230 dancers from across NE Derbyshire took part in the Smartdanceworks Summer Charity Dance, organised by Tracey Barnes, of Snape Hill Crescent.

Held at the Winding Wheel, Chesterfield, the event saw £2,449 going towards the BHF’s Mending Broken Hearts Appeal, thanks to a great night of music, dancing, magic and cabaret. Tracey, of Smartdanceworks, was thrilled with the success of the event and happy that her passion for dancing was able to raise money for a cause so close to her heart. Explained Tracey, whose dad died of a heart attack 12 years ago: “The British Heart Foundation does a tremendous amount of work to help promote healthy hearts and I wanted to do what I could to raise funds for this very worthwhile cause.”
