Aday of skin education


Skin experts keen to discovermore about advanced science and ingredient technology should head to the International Dermal Institute's SkinSight 2012 event, taking place this month at their headquarters in Surrey.

Topics covered will include hormones and pigmentation,medical aesthetics and treating Eczema.

Meanwhile, advanced practitioner in permanent cosmetics Belinda Hayle was invited by ITV2 to the home of CarolWright, mother ofMark and Jess, where she tattooed Billie Faiers eyebrows. She has previously worked with Jess and Carol, and Cara Kilbey.


Whale oil awareness


The International Jojoba Export Council (IJEC) has signed an agreement with theWhale and Dolphin Conservation Society (WDCS), to prevent manufacturers from using whale-derived spermaceti in cosmetic and personal care products.


Jojoba can be used as a green and renewable alternative to oil taken from whales killed in hunts.


Under the terms of the agreement, signed at European cosmetics trade show In-Cosmetics®, IJEC members will use theWDCS logo on oil containers and other promotional materials.


HABB raise £750


The fifth Hair & Beauty Benevolent Women's Networking Breakfast welcomed industry expertMichelle Feeney, and raised £750 for the industry charity.


Michelle provided a rare insight into her career path with 40 of the industry's leading women, speaking about her role as CEO of PZ Cussons Beauty, responsible CharlesWorthington, The Sanctuary, St Tropez and the recently required Fudge brand.
