ECA West Midlands region has a couple of big events this month, including a regional golf day for members and their clients on 29 May. Taking place at the Chase Golf Club, Penkridge, Staffordshire, this event costs £35 and covers a bacon bap and coffee prior to tee off, 18 holes of golf, with refreshments on the 10th tee, followed
by a two-course presentation dinner. On 31 May, there will be an information-packed seminar for clients at the Chase Golf Club. The seminar will include a technical presentation provided by ECA technical department on the Electrical Installation Condition Report (the replacement for the PIR), the DesignGenie design package, and the PIRform intelligent certifi cation package. Getting the message across
ECA South Wales regional manager Lawrence Andrews has been visiting Edmundson Electrical wholesalers in the South Wales area. Along with a warm Welsh welcome, Lawrence set up recruitment and information stands where he met with many existing ECA members and possible future ones.
‘I met a lot of electrical contractors and had a chance to talk with them about ECA membership and important industry issues,’ said Lawrence. ‘Some of the members have been in the ECA for years and were pleased to see me there. I revisited the benefi ts to them of their membership, and they were surprised at some of the things that they can get for free from the ECA but are paying an out sourced company for, such as health and safety advice.’

Dawntilldusk golf marathon
On Friday 29 June, Jonathan Jones from ECA Cardiff and Newport Branch member Taff Housing Association, along with three of his fund-raising friends, will be taking part in a golf marathon to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Trust and Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Jonathan and his friends will be playing nine holes of golf on nine different courses in the South Wales area between the hours of 4.30am and 10pm, hoping to raise more than £1,000 for the charities – and ECA members and other ECA Today readers are welcome to contribute. Jonathan’s mother Alida Jones has suffered with the symptoms of multiple sclerosis (MS) for 24 years and has recently become immobilised because of the symptoms.
