Charities get boost from North West conference
The North West regional weekend conference at Shrewsbury was a big success – and raised plenty of money for two great charities.
A silent auction raised £1,375 for the president’s charity, Ty Hafen, which offers comfort, care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families, helping them make the most of the time they have left.
‘It was a great honour for me to present the cheque on behalf of the North West region to my chosen charity Ty Hafan,’ said ECA president Alun Pearson. ‘Ty Hafan does fantastic work in providing palliative care for children with life-limiting conditions, and I have supported the charity since its establishment in 1999. During my presidency, visiting the regions, it has been really encouraging to see all the work that is done in raising money for their local charities.’ A further £1,375 was raised at the auction and was given to the regional chairman’s selected charity, MS Research.
