With close ties to original Sims creator EA Maxis, The Sims Studio today is responsible for the consistently popular video game series from which it takes its name. While The Sims – itself a spin
off from Will Wright’s iconic god- game Sim City – now courts less attention in the games industry than it did a decade previously, it is still clearly a very successful product. The Sims 3 – the generation of the game which The Sims Studio has handled exclusively – has no less than 12 bestselling expansions, and today is even fronted by pop star Katy Perry. This is yet another Develop 100 entry that suggests specialism is bankable. The Sims Studio’s future –
even if it just contains expansions for now –looks certain to be fruitful.
