through ArgusCarHire.com for the destinations operated by ClubstoHire.com will now be offered the opportunity to book golf clubs. McGinley’s fellow


ClubstoHire director, Tony Judge, said: “The booking engine technology behind ArgusCarHire.com is not just for car-rental businesses; it’s an ancillary revenue stream for the entire travel industry and it affords us an outstanding opportunity to expand our existing customer base. “What’s more, Argus Car


Hire’s multi-national footprint will enable it to work with us wherever we expand to and we plan on opening several more stores in 2012 alone.” Dublin-based ArgusCarHire.


com connects customers with more than 550 car rental brands at 30,000 locations in 171 different countries, using booking engine technology developed by CarTrawler. ClubstoHire’s impending


launch in Lisbon and the Isle of Man will take the number of outlets up to nine.

14% on its website during 2011. Figures released by HowDidiDo


show the continuing evolution of a social network-style group which has more than 300,000 members and a database of handicaps, results and scores of in excess of 1,300,000 men and women. There were more than 60


million page views during 2011, peaking at 8.1 million in July, up from 52.8 million the previous year. It also showed a total of 2.7


million unique visits, an increase of 17.14% from the 2011 total. HowDidiDo’s MD, Barry Dyett,


said: “We are constantly evolving organically and adding new benefits for our membership. Last year we introduced the HowDidiDo order of merit. “That exceeded all our


expectations with more than 11,000 golfers signing up. This year’s competition has garnered Titleist as a title sponsor and will run for a longer period, so we expect it to be an even greater success,” continued Dyett. “We are already seeing


continued growth in 2012 with an increase of more than 29% on our unique visits for January alone.” Nearly 2,000 golf clubs are


reported to use the HowDidiDo site. The service is free and welcomes new members daily.
