“April showers bring May flow- ers,” right?
This year, Febru- ary showers gave way to March f lowe r s ( and mosquitos) – yet, another reminder
that these aren’t typical times.
Still the meaning of this age-old saying holds true… rainy days lead to sunny days, when there is a sense of renewal, revitalization and a chance to once again flourish. In a life lesson, it’s about shin- ing some light on optimism when things seem a little gloomy.
This issue of Wisconsin School Musi- cian brings to life ideas on how to break through the dark clouds by turning challenges into opportunities. In the pages ahead, we plant some seeds with examples of perseverance. From two wonderful feature articles on col- laboratively finding solutions during challenging times in a school district to a student perspective on her determination to excel in an honors audition, there is much to soak in.
In Wisconsin, we have an over 80-year history of fostering music education. Despite the ups and downs, there has been a good mix of rain and sun to provide growth in what we do. We are writing history every day we help kids blossom as we work toward our impor- tant cause. Here’s to a new season!
