We ask for Gamestation Nottingham’s opinion on gaming handhelds

MCV: I’ve been saving up for a new handheld but can’t decide on 3DS or Vita. Which would you recommend?

Gamestation: Your best bet is to come in and have a look at them. You can try them out in store, see what different features they have. Personally, I’ve got a Vita and I really like it. It’s got some great games, although they do get a little expensive.

MCV: How much are they?

Gamestation: For new games, you’re looking at anywhere between £30 and £40, but they’re really high quality. And some of them even link to the PS3, so there’s a bunch of cool stuff you can do there. Although you do

have to buy a memory card, which starts at £14.99 for 4GB.

MCV: What’s the 3DS like?

Gamestation: It’s cheaper, but the games are a bit more kiddified: things like Mario, Pokémon, Cooking Mama. Like I said, your best bet is to come into the store and try each one out.

VERDICT:

Very friendly service with the offer of more help if we go into store. The attendant was clearly a Vita fan, but encouraged us to try both handhelds. Score:

8/10
