Sony seeks business insight with Clerkson


New role created for former Warner Bros analyst  Nintendo exec heads up Bigpoint product marketing  Distributor EntaTech hires new marketing boss


SCE UK l Sony Computer Entertainment UK has hired SARAH CLERKSON for the newly-created role of head of business insights.


She joins Sony from Warner Bros Home Entertainment, where she held a number of analytical roles – most recently as senior insight manager, covering games, video, and digital business.


Clerkson will be responsible for improving the company’s market analysis, as well as finding new ways to develop consumer understanding about PlayStation products. She began her new role last week and reports directly to UK managing director FERGAL GARA. “We have created this brand new role within SCE UK in order to help us more accurately target the right consumers, communicate more effectively with them and respond quickly to changes in market conditions,” said Gara. “Sarah brings a wealth of experience in the areas of market analysis and insight, both in the video games sector and that of the related home video market and I believe her experience added to the responsibilities of this new role will enable SCE UK to compete more effectively in the UK market.”

BIGPOINT l The online games giant has hired EMILIAN- WALTER LORENZ as head of global product marketing. Lorenz previous worked at Nintendo of Europe for ten years, working his way up from brand executive to European product manager. He was responsible for the marketing strategies behind various Wii and GameCube titles. He will be based at Bigpoint’s Hamburg HQ, and will


oversee and develop both the product and marketing departments. “Emilian-Walter Lorenz is a superior product marketing expert with many years of valuable brand experience in the gaming sector,” said Bigpoint CEO HEIKO HUBERTZ. “For exactly this reason, we are happy to welcome him to the Bigpoint team to put his industry know-how to good use.”

ENTATECH l KATE FULLER has joined the distributor as marketing manager.


She boasts over ten years of marketing experience from a variety of industries, and has spent the past six years in the same position at a high profile radio station. In her new role, Fuller will work closely with EntaTech’s vendor partners, develop the company’s websites and


manage client marketing campaigns, PR and events. “I am really pleased to be joining the team at EntaTech,” she said. “The company is growing fast and we are keen to expand our marketing activities to increase our brand profile within the IT distribution market. “It’s an exciting time and we’re in the process of putting plans together to further boost our presence in the market and raise awareness of our product range and vendors.”
