THE FIRST Spec Opstitle developed by Yager Development (ninth in a franchise that started in 1998), is based on Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness – the novel that explores war and madness. Spec Ops: The Linebegins six months after a sandstorm has left Dubai buried like a dad on a beach, transforming the home for the perversely rich into a playground for the richly perverse.
After dangerous outlaws overrun the spectacular city, US Army Colonel John Konrad and his 33nd Infantry are presumed dead after staying behind to help locals. Players are thrust into the action when a distress signal is picked up months after their disappearance, sending a three-man team led by Captain Walker into the heart of the city on a rescue mission. Once inside the sandy maze, players will have to battle against the hostile locals, the volatile environment and the onset of madness. The game comes complete with a range of team based multiplayer modes allowing players join either the Damned or the Exiles faction
