Introduction to the Seminar Programme
It is clear that new themes have arisen in the publishing industry over the last year. The 2012 Publishing Expo seminar programme is where you can access the industry’s best minds and find the answers to questions naturally arising out of such fast-paced change.
Key highlights in the Audience and Data, Production and Design and Digital and Multi- Publishing Theatres explore new attitudes towards apps and feature exclusive insights from a brand new PPA comparative study of the digital gaming, newspaper and data industries. We are also delighted to welcome Carla Buzasi, editor in chief of Huffington Post UK, to one of our VIP interview slots. The Huffington Post is a phenomenon of the new user-generated content age, with literally thousands of bloggers. Does it set a new model – not only for the reader, but also the editor? Incisive’s Tim Weller, in another VIP slot, discusses the changing face of B2B publishing. While throughout the whole programme, the reality of ‘multi-publishing’ and its implications for production, design, audience and data comes under close scrutiny.
Our VIP interviews, by now an industry institution, are this year being conducted by The Media Briefing’s Neil Thackray, no mean innovator himself.
The Content Agility Theatre is back at Publishing Expo 2012 and will focus on core challenges facing the modern publisher in today’s user-led publishing landscape, educating and informing visitors on the processes, strategies and technologies required to overcome them. Visitors to the Content Agility Theatre will learn how content can be re- purposed for different platforms and with the right infrastructure and foundation can drive new and dynamic products to make the most of your valuable content. Content Agility means making information agile, portable and reusable – abilities made ever more critical by eBooks, ePub 3.0, smartphones and Web 2.0.
Our 8 exciting Keynote Sessions - one each day in each of our four theatres - will deliver as much of a definitive picture of today’s and tomorrow’s solutions as anyone can muster. And rest assured, in every subject area we can promise intelligent, penetrating, and sometimes profoundly surprising contributions.
We look forward to welcoming you to what we can guarantee will be another challenging and inspiring seminar programme.
See you there! The Publishing Expo Seminar Team
