in San Francisco The California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco has opened Animal Attraction, a new aquarium exhibit that offers ‘a revealing look at some of the oddest mating strategies in the animal kingdom’. By viewing a series of 18 tanks visitors will encounter, among other things, hermaphroditic banana slugs, barnacles that win the award for most well-endowed, cannibalistic praying mantises, parasitic anglerfish, and much more. The Academy uses iPads as exhibit labels, allowing visitors to zoom in on images and watch videos. Tickets cost $29.95 for adults and $19.95 for children (four-11).
