Changes begin as Allmark and Catchpole head to Hit

Acquisition by Mattel complete New top level management structure revealed... by Samantha Loveday

“A MOMENTOUS day for Mattel, especially Fisher-Price”. That’s how David Allmark described the completion of the acquisition of Hit Entertainment by Mattel last month. Allmark has been charged with directing the Hit business – which Mattel first revealed it was going to buy for $680 million in cash in October 2011 – as Fisher-Price executive vice president. He will be supported by key new hire, Edward Catchpole, who arrives as senior vice president of Hit Brands. The news of Catchpole’s appointment received a good reaction from the trade, as he built up a strong reputation during his time at Disney Consumer Products as SVP Europe and Emerging Markets. Prior to Disney, Catchpole worked for New Millennium Experience Company as design and development merchandise director.
