Ley de casinos en Nicaragua, que se perfila como uno de los mercados de próxima ampliación. Es interesante ver que el doctor Jaime Fonseca, quien colaborara en la preparación de las normas del país centroamericano, sea parte de otra nota también sobre un acuerdo del estudio donde es socio (Varela & Fonseca) con la firma norteamericana Dickinson Wright. Como nota final tenemos una primicia sobre las conferencias
en FADJA 2012, donde nos aseguran que se presentaran ponentes de categoría con temas de gran relevancia, sobre todo en lo que concierne al ordenamiento de la industria del juego colombiano bajo COLJUEGOS, la nueva empresa estatal que se encargará de regular la operación de la industria de juegos de azar en el país sudamericano. ¡Nos vemos en ICE 2012 de Londres!

NICARAGUA – Nueva Ley de Juegos entra en vigencia
El 05 de diciembre entro en vigencia la Ley 766, “Ley Especial para el Control y Regulación de Casinos y Salas de Juegos’, en Nicaragua. El país centroamericano tiene como ente regulador al
Instituto Nicaragüense de Turismo, donde
se encuentran registradas unas 14 mil máquinas tragamonedas. Según Omar Oporta, Director de Asuntos Jurídicos de INTUR, existen en Nicaragua 47 casinos y unas

regulated gambling. Our item on Nicaragua, below, is fairly extensive on the new
casino legislation in the Central American country, which is set for fairly rapid industry growth. It is interesting to see, also, that Gaming law specialist, Jaime Fonseca, who did major work on the Nicaragua legislation, is party to his law firm Varela & Fonseca’s contribution deal with reputable US gaming firm Dickinson Wright, as reported also. Finally, and hot off the press, an item on the FADJA 2012 Gaming Conference, where the organizers have assured us to present some of the best industry speakers bringing to the event important topics, especially on the gaming legislation amendments that apply to Colombia under new regulators COLJUEGOS, in charge of ringing the changes to develop the operation of gaming properties in the South American country.
