2002 Nissan Frontier: 3-Part Audio Upgrade (continued)
(4) Phillips head screws ((2) on either side of the radio) must be removed. These screws held the factory radio in place. Note: The factory brackets were removed and secured to the Pioneer AVIC- X930BT.
Carefully pulling outward, the radio bezel pops out. The cigarette lighter and hazard light harnesses were unplugged.
The head liner had to be dropped some to route the antennas into the interior of the truck. This was done by removing the Phillips head screw securing the clothing hook and (3) pop clips.
(2) Torx screws held the 3rd brake light in place. The Pioneer’s navigation and SiriusXM antenna were routed through the factory pass through hole.
Remove the map light to route the wire for the microphone. The entire bezel pulls out with a firm grip.
The antennas neatly in place. Note: All dust and dirt was cleaned from the paint first. This helps eliminate scratches to the paint over time.
