City’s Web Wizards Showtime
Audio.net
The YouTube channel is a ubiquitous feature these days, so for Showtime it’s literal: showtime!
The website design’s strength derives from orga- nization, order and simplicity.
With all these features built into the site, it would seem that the website would be very hard to use or understand, but it is very easy to get around. Everything just seems to make sense.
PRODUCTS & SERVICES With such a capable shop and crew, the Products and Services
list is enormous. Te categories listed are consumer recognizable. Each category shows descriptions to support the shop’s capabil- ity in that area, as well as installations they have performed. Classic cars, motorcycles, and off-road equipment can all be
modified at the shop, and are highlighted in the gallery and in the magazine articles. While anyone can say they work on Lam- borghinis or show cars, Villa shows proof of them in his shop with his crew working on them. Te only critique I have here is that most of the work shown in the galleries is all custom and very in- tense. Most of the cars are very high-end. While that is probably a good portion of the work that is done at the shop, an average consumer just looking for a head-unit upgrade or some Blue-
tooth functionality may be intimidated by the plethora of exotic stuff on the site. Tey may instead seek out a more mainstream option. Not necessarily a bad thing, mind you, but important if you want to capitalize on every potential customer.
PROMOTION From local representation on TV from their comical “When
you want to go big” commercial, viewable on the site, to the magazine exposure, the store has plenty of eyes on its work. Te list of clients is huge, and has many big return-on-investment situ-
ations like DJs and radio station staff that no doubt get to talk proudly of Jerry’s shop when showing off their ride. Professional athletes and other high-profile clients help spread the word about working on high-end ve- hicles with ease, and undoubtedly bring many friends and family over to experience the work as well. Next up for Villa is an experiment with eBay and Facebook integration. Ward 1 Designs designed the site and man- ages updates, while Villa or staff spend several hours per week uploading content, from photos to Tumblr postings. ■
