A Big Apple In the Big Apple


WHEN IT COMES TO COMPUTERS,I’m a Mac. I am definitely not a PC. I have gone from a blueberry iMac and an orange clamshell iBook to my current workhorse, a MacBook Pro. An iPod is on every trip, and my iPad is never more than a few feet away (since my entire life is now organized on it). At Carstens we have PC’s, but since your ed- itor and both associate editors (Walt Lanke- nau and Otto Vondrak) are die-hard Mac users, we have migrated as much of R&R’s production away from the PC’s and onto our


own Macs; the features, covers, news, and more are now done with a bright Apple shin- ing on our computers. I was recently invited to give a program to


the New York Railroad Enthusiasts group on January 27, 2012, which meets at Grand Central Terminal (not a bad meeting place), and I eagerly looked forward to attending. Not only is Grand Central one of the finest stations in the U.S., but it now houses the largest Apple Store in the country as well. When I got to GCT, I was not prepared for

As its name implies, the shuttle runs back and forth with no intermediate stops between the two locations.
