Focus on Handwriting Instruction: A Foundational Literacy Skill (Course Number PD12)
Enhance your teaching knowledge with practical applications and strategies for integrating handwriting instruction across the curriculum, focusing on the relationship between handwriting and literacy. Fine Motor Skill Activities for Early Literacy (Prewriting) Development (PD1) Would you like to reduce handwriting referrals? Learn a variety of auditory, visual, and kinesthetic activities to develop appropriate pencil grasp, line production, fine motor skills, hand strength and dexterity, and visual-motor skills to improve motor planning for printing. This course is designed to support Occupational Therapists in their role as direct service providers on prewriting and writing skill development. Learn strategies that you can share with classroom teachers to incorporate motor activities into everyday classroom instruction and to improve handwriting instruction and overall student achievement.
