We were known by some of the dancers

as the “Donnegan Reel boys” and we decided to become the “Donnegan Reel Girls”, and with it being Ireland, it was only appropriate that we turn into Irish dancing girls! So we appeared on the fl oor, and did a medley of dances to the music for “Donnegan’s Reel”, fi nishing up with a bow to the roar of the crowd. Sunday night featured a couple of

demonstrations too, with Ann McHugh from Dublin dancing with James McLauchlan from Glasgow, a friend of Michelle’s who had come with her for moral support, as well as one of our own dancers, a former World Linedance champion, Imelda McDaid, dancing her Cuban dance for this year’s Worlds competition. Both demonstrations showed the social dancers what the other side of Line dancing, the competition circuit, can offer in terms of elegance and styling .

Sunday’s workshop featured myself and Michelle teaching, with a little Beginner cha cha, called “Tulsa Cha”, while Michelle taught both “Waltz With Me”, as well as a brand new dance “She”, which she jointly choreographed with James. The crowd enjoyed all three dances, as none were too diffi cult, which was exactly what they wanted by this stage. Francie and Michelle did DJ between them all weekend, and had a ball keeping the crowd going. With requests coming at them left, right and centre, they did a great job of keeping the crowd happy, and the fl oor full. On Monday morning, all that was

left to do was pack up our gear, and say goodbye to everybody as we left for home, thoroughly exhausted, but smiling from ear to ear. I can honestly say this was the best weekend we ever hosted. The attendance this year broke

all records and I am glad we did not give up….. In fact, it has given us the boost to continue on, and we have our dates booked for next year, Friday 19th October to Monday 22nd October 2012, so why not get in touch, and book with us …. Make it quick though, as we sold out last year, and the crowd all seem to be ready to book again for next year!!
