Tom Glover from Illawarra Country Bootscooters, in South Coast, NSW Australia contacted us recently and what he told us truly touched our hearts. When one of the club’s dancers daughter Rylee who is only two was diagnosed with Congenital heart disease, the club decided to help the best way they knew how….here’s their moving and uplifting story.

The “Heartkids” charity in Australia
specializes in helping those with babies and young children diagnosed with heart problems. The charity’s mission is to raise awareness and offer support to those whose young babies are diagnosed with heart disease, a situation much more common than many know. We asked Ceinwen Johnstone, the mother of Rylee to tell us in her own words what happened.
Rylee was born on 23rd August 2009
with Congenital Heart Disease - Critical Pulmonary Atresia with a Hypoplastic Right Ventricle. This means the valve lying between her right ventricle and

she was two months old she was admitted again for a Pulmonary valve balloon dilatation. This procedure was
After she was delivered, Rylee was
taken to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. When she was around 15 hours old, she was taken to surgery for the construction of a shunt between her right subclavian artery and her right pulmonary artery as a temporary measure to relieve insuffi cient blood fl ow to the lungs. The operation went very well and she was discharged home when she was nine days old.
