2011 FALL WORLD CUP TEAM Patrick

MEEK PERSONAL STATS

Date of Birth: November 10, 1985 Hometown: St. Louis, MO Residence: Salt Lake City, UT Coach: Matt Kooreman

Over the past seven years, Meek has been training in Salt Lake City, Utah and has developed into one of the premier distance skaters in the country. A member of US National Long Track Racing Program, Meek focuses primarily on the 5000m, 10,000m and team pursuit races.

Skating has a long history for Meek’s family. Both his grandfather and father were avid speedskaters. As soon as he could walk at the age of two, he was on skates pushing a bucket. From those humble beginnings, he began a lifelong love for this sport.

Off the ice, Meek received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Utah, and is continuing his post-graduate studies at Ashworth College. He is an active supporter of Right to Play, and works part-time as a concierge at the Waldorf Astoria in Park City, UT as part of the United States Olympic Committee’s TeamUSA Careers Program.
