Lauren is another successful speedskater with an inline racing background. Although she started inline skating at the age of 9, she didn’t start skating on ice until 6 years ago. Since then, Cholewinski’s skated on four World Cup teams and in fi ve U.S. Speedskating Championships. She made her Olympic debut at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games.
Recently, Cholewinski won the 500m title at the 2011 U.S. Single Distance Championships.
Cholewinski has a variety of interests outside the rink, which include modeling and obtaining a pilot’s license. Her brother, James, is also an experienced speedskater, competing in the 2010 World Sprint Championships.
