At age 6, Plummer watched Olympian Dan Jansen win his Olympic gold medal in the 1000m in 1984 and asked his mom if I he could try speedskating. Plummer has been skating ever since. Staring out in short track, he transitioned to long track 12 years later, moving to Salt Lake City at age 18 to train at the Utah Olympic Oval.

In his third year with the U.S. National Long Track Program, Plummer specializes in the 500m and 1000m. He won the 2010-11 American Cup overall title in the 1000m, and placed third overall in the 500m standings. He made his World Cup debut in the 2009-2010 season.


Off the ice, Plummer enjoys fi shing, travel, and volunteers as a coach with the Gateway Speedskating Club when visiting his hometown of St. Louis, MO. Plummer recently received a degree in Political Science, with a minor in Economics, from the University of Utah.
