Gunther has been skating since the age of six, fi rst as a fi gure skater then transitioning to inlines. Following a successful 10-year career in inline racing – tallying several relay gold medals as a member of the Junior World Champiosnhip squad – Gunther joined the U.S. National Long Track Program in 2009.


Narrowly missing a spot on the 2010 Olympic Team, Gunther’s 2009-2010 season ended with a tragic accident while skating in the American Cup series at the Utah Olympic Oval in March 2010. Following months of rehabilitation on her injured leg, Gunther came back strong and made the 2011 winter World Cup team last season.


Off the ice, Gunther is a student at Salt Lake Community College and is interested in pursuing a career in early childhood education.
