Contents Dear Reader,

With Christmas fast approaching, a number of schools and colleges will have music concerts, theatre productions and other entertainment planned, making our feature on Theatre & Staging (13-16) particularly relevant. In ‘A platform for discussion’ (p14) we take a look at the origins and development of Theatre in Education, focusing on learning and development through the creative medium of drama. WorldSkills London 2011 celebrated the technical and vocational achievements of young people from all over the world in an event which is changing the perception of this career path (p8).

It might not be until January next year, but already the countdown to BETT has begun with companies planning product launches, while key decision makers prepare their ‘wish lists’ for the next academic year. BETT is THE place to see new products and hear from fellow educators who are using the technology, about how it can improve teaching and learning. It is set to take place from 11-14th January 2012 at Olympia, London - read all about it in our show preview next month!
