Rank Group said that its Interactive division grew revenue by 21 per cent per cent in the 16-week period to 16 October due to the continued strong performance of Meccabingo.com. The business has achieved particularly strong growth in mobile gaming with revenues nearly trebling compared with the same period last year. Mobile gaming now accounts for 6 per cent of Rank Interactive’s revenue.

People in Northern Ireland certainly believe in the luck of the Irish - with 62.5 per cent of the people from the country convinced they are

lucky, while only 29 per cent of Scots believe they get any luck. People from the North


West, North East, Yorkshire, the Midlands don’t class themselves as lucky, but the Welsh (55.3 per cent), Londoners (54.2 per cent) and Easterners (52.2 per cent), class themselves in the lucky bracket.


The poll also revealed


we are a superstitious nation - with 57.5 per cent of Britons adhering to superstitions. 39.8 per cent


of the population won’t walk under ladders, 30 per cent won’t reveal their birthday wish after blowing out their candles, 8.7 per cent would bring a lucky charm into an interview or exam and 0.8 per cent would carry a lucky rabbit foot in their pocket. Other interesting results


from the survey include the number 7 being Britain’s luckiest number. 65 per cent of white haired people believe they are lucky and 47 per cent of people believe being nice to other


people will change their luck.


The survey was done ahead of the bingo site’s biggest ever promotion which gave Brits the chance to win a car everyday during October, with 31 Fiat 500 up for grabs for players - whether they believe in luck or not. Anna Conley, head of bingo at William Hill, commented: “It’s our biggest ever bingo promotion and we think it’ll be a huge hit with our new and existing players.”
