GAMBIA RUSH
GAMBIA RUSH GROWING AND BUILDING EXCHANGE PROGRAM
The Gambia Rush has been making great strides in developing
the club’s programs and, specifically, the Academy. We currently have seven very competitive boys teams. These players are playing in the top division and participated in a player exchange program with our U.S. based partner clubs: Colorado Rush, Texas Rush and Georgia Rush. The Gambia Rush recently added a U18 Girls team and we are currently working to get a couple of these players to come to the States to attend college. Abdoulie Bojang is the Gambia Rush Technical Director (pictured here) and has been instrumental in the development of these players. He currently is on the Gambian National Team staff and has been the Technical Director since the partnership with Rush began.

GHANA RUSH The United States Navy delivered Adidas soccer balls to Ghana Rush as part of the REACH program.
In late June 2011, the United States Navy
ship HSV Swift docked at the Tema Port in Ghana with a special delivery for the Ghana Rush. On board the ship were four boxes, which had made their way from Denver, Colorado,
in the USA to Ghana as part of the Rush Soccer Club’s REACH program. Each box contained 12 Adidas soccer balls, which were donated by Adidas to Rush’s REACH program. After docking, the U.S. Navy sailors from the Swift delivered the REACH boxes to Nana Osei-Bempong, Country Administrator of Ghana Rush. Receiving the items at the port, Nana Osei-Bempong expressed
the excitement and motivation such donation brings to Ghana Rush’s local partners and children, who are the main beneficiaries
of the Rush program in Ghana. He assured the captain and sailors of the Swift that the balls will be put to good use and thanked them for their commitment to the REACH program. As part of Ghana Rush’s commitment to local partner schools, churches, and orphanages, Nana Osie-Bempong donated two of the soccer balls each to local partners including Akim-Swedru Senior High School, Osunase Orphanage, Methodist School-Oda New-Town, and Oda Senior High School. The remaining balls will be used for practice and games by the Akim-Oda and Agona Swedru Rush Soccer clubs.
