PHOENIX RUSH PHOENIX RUSH SUCCESSFUL IN
CLUB EXPANSION Phoenix Rush had success with its summer pro- gram, which has led to five new competitive teams joining the club.
Phoenix Rush has added five new competitive teams in its
younger age groups and has added three new coaches to its staff. The younger teams will be coached by Technical Director Laila Modi, Director of Goalkeeping Chris Sagar and Alex Sachs. Also assisting with coaching these teams are Jeff Hulseweh (’94 girls coach) and Sierra Cristiano, former Northern Arizona University Assistant Soccer Coach. These younger teams represent the energy and future of this growing club on both the boys’ and girls’ sides. The five new teams for the 2011-12 season are: ‘04 Boys, ‘02 Boys, ‘02 Girls Swoosh, ‘02 Girls Nike and ‘00 girls. These teams join the ‘96 and ‘94 girls to round out a successful expansion of over 70 kids in just under 6 months. Phoenix Rush has also been busy establishing a recreational base

PUTTING TOGETHER THE PLAN TO EXPAND!
Strategic Planning sessions at Rush Pikes Peak have set the foundations for growth with the goal to become the only soccer club in the city that players want to play for.
This is an exciting time at Rush Pikes Peak Soccer Club after
some ups and down over the last couple of years. We now have a growing staff, a stable set of Directors and a number of exciting programs that are catching the eye of our members. With grant money from the state association allowing us to adopt fields from the city we are now able to have high quality training fields including new equipment (nets from the All-State Donation Program). Also, with successful community-based outreaches for Thunder and Latino Programs, things are moving forward. The quest now is to ensure that people outside of Rush know
of all these wonderful opportunities; and our goal is to create awareness that can help grow our reputation and member base. To help facilitate this we have been meeting with David Hyatt, an Industrial Psychologist with “ON” (

working very closely with our staff, not only to help us set goals but to also put in a strategic plan to achieve them. Our goal is to be THE ONLY club in the city that people want to
play for. To do this we must be sure that we increase our customer and member services, continue to improve the product on the field and ensure that everyone associated with the club is accountable to our Rush Core Values. The new energy these sessions have created amongst the staff
has created a buzz in and around the office and we hope to ride this wave of positivity and take Rush Pikes Peak to the next level.
programs exclusively for Rush members as well as serving the community at large.” Phoenix Rush recently graduated a class of new referees that will be working on the sidelines in the soccer community starting this fall. The club will also continue to support the TOPSoccer Program here in Phoenix, which starts in October. Phoenix Rush kicked off the new season with its first
‘Rush Day’. All Rush players welcomed the new season with a morning of small-sided games and team activities. This provided a great opportunity for players, families, and staff to get to know each other better and to start the season off in style.
