VIRGINIA RUSH CAPTURES 2012 RUSH FESTIVAL! DEVELOPS PARTNERSHIP WITH THE WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT!
"The Virginia Rush is honored and excited to host the 2012
Rush Festival,” said VA Rush Technical Director Jay Hoffman. “Through the years, our players have always had a great experience at the Festival and we are excited to host it on the East Coast next year. We have a great resort location and first-class facilities. We invite the Rush Family to come join us for a great soccer experience at the beach.” This will be the fifth year running for the Rush Festival, which includes U12 and U14 boys and girls age groups. The VA Rush promises a momentous occasion for all Rush clubs that participate in the 2012 Rush Festival! The VA Rush tournaments, Rush Cup on the Coast and Ralph Downey Memorial Day Classic, are proud supporters of the Wounded Warrior Project. The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is “To honor and empower wounded warriors.” The purpose of the Wounded Warrior Project is to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for injured service members, help them assist each other, and provide direct programs and services that are unique and meet the needs of injured service members.
The VA Rush was selected to host the 2012 Rush Festival, July 16-25 in Virginia Beach, VA. The Rush Festival generates an amazingly unique soccer atmosphere and we invite all Rush affiliates to join the Virginia Rush to compete at the beach!
“Every week an average of 160 of our military are wounded in Afghanistan. Currently over 47,000 have been wounded in Afghanistan and Iraq. The needs are many and funding is limited. The Virginia Rush is proud to be partners with the Wounded Warrior Project to raise the awareness of our heroes’ needs,” said Virginia Rush General Manager Denise Edwards. The Virginia Rush’s fall season has kicked-off with our Competitive, Advanced, and Developmental programs. The USSDA and ECNL teams are already in full swing. We wish all of our teams the best of luck in the upcoming fall season.
