SO CAL RUSH RUSH FEST AND NEW BEGINNINGS
G98 heats it up in New Mexico, bringing back the best that Rush has to offer from across the country. So Cal Rush joins the SCDSL and sets a new standard of competition in Southern California.
Our G98 team got the opportunity this past summer to have a
peek at the scope of the Rush Nation. As New Mexico Rush hosted everyone in Albuquerque this past July, our young ladies were able to compete with Rush players from across the country and train with some of the top Rush coaches in the nation. Coach Alejandra Flores welcomed the aid of Chris Reyes from Virginia Rush as the girls picked up a different perspective of the Rush Way. Joining our girls on this trip was Boys DOC Lucas Kim, who added a bit of So Cal to the mix while working with Gary Riozzi’s ladies from Washington and Nick Massa’s boys from Pikes Peak, with some lead from Meredith Flaherty of Texas. This was a wonderful experience unlike any other for everyone involved, and something that we look forward to repeating year after year! This year So Cal Rush becomes one of the teams that join the
SCDSL (Southern California Developmental Soccer League) in its inaugural season. Our club enters the ranks of elite clubs from all across

Southern California and sets a new high standard for competitive soccer in our region. As many of our teams find success in this new chapter in club history, we look ahead at the future. Opportunities continue to open up for our young athletes while they excel in their development. We are excited by the prospects of our new U10 boys and girls teams coached by Ernesto Carmona, and foresee a bright future. Both of our DOC’s, Sammy Lara (girls) and Lucas Kim (boys), continue to work hard leading our young prodigies to the next level of competition by teaching the Rush Way.
RUSH PLAYERS TRAIN WITH
REAL MADRID Two Tennessee Rush U-16 boys travel to Spain to play against and train with one of La Liga’s best.
Daniel Rutter and Geoff Dee had the opportunity that many
boys their age can only dream of. Both boys were selected as part of a squad that would travel to Spain and train with the youth team of Real Madrid. Not only did the boys get to train with the squad they actually played against Real Madrid’s Under 16 team and tied them 3-3 in a thrilling encounter. Geoff and Daniel both are Region III players and are well known to the Rush “select team” staff. They have very bright futures in the game if they continue to work hard and keep developing.
In other Rush News, the 3rd annual TN Rush Jamboree went
well and helped raise funds for individual teams. Teams from both TN Rush and Rush Olive Branch participated and there was some excellent soccer on display as well an opportunity to strengthen

Rush camaraderie. The weather was excellent and everyone in attendance had a great time!
Big congratulations must be extended to Natasha Davenport and
Michael Swift as both players have been selected to attend Region III’s Thanksgiving interregional event. Davenport is ever-present on the Regional team but this will be the first time for Swift. Swift has also been pinpointed as a “player to watch” after some dazzling displays for his 98 TN Rush Nike team. The accolade comes from soccer website
topdrawersoccer.com and we wish both players the very best of luck on their travels with the region squad!
