Québec T
Outdoor action and city sophistication
he beauty of a holiday in Québec is that you get the best of both worlds, the natural scenic wonders of
Eastern Canada and the European- style flair and history of France and the UK all with a quirky and fun ‘je ne sais quoi’ that is all uniquely Québec! What’s more it’s under seven hours flying time from the UK. Québec is one of Canada’s 13 provinces and territories and has two of the country’s most interesting cities, Québec City and Montréal, easily linked by a train ride and one of the world’s great rivers the St Lawrence Québec is a destination which ticks
all the boxes; accessible, affordable, surprising, stunning and fun. Québec is a true year-round activity
and touring destination with hot, sunny summers, brilliant red autumn colours and cold crisp, sunny winters ideal for great skiing in resorts like Tremblant. And talking of snow, Montréal will be the home of North America’s first Snow Village in an urban centre with hotel, bar, chapel and igloos as well as a re-creation of some of the city’s main landscapes.

Whatever the season, Québec’s cities are great for urban delights like shopping, inexpensive galleries of original work and interactive museums, bars and restaurants, live music and theatre plus of course, a range of accommodation to suit every pocket and style. The cities are also great places to meet the locals because, unlike so many urban centres, people live right in the city centre.
There are lots of smaller boutique properties throughout the province but also landmark and historic Fairmont hotels from the stylish Queen
Elizabeth Montréal to the copper roofs and towers of the Chateau Frontenac. The well-priced Marriott Hotel brands are also excellently-located throughout Québec, not only in the cities' historic sections but also throughout the countryside too.
And when your clients want to head for the wilderness and adventure activities in the ‘Great Outdoors’ it’s right next door. Each of Québec’s 22 regions offers a different feel, experience and range of scenic splendours from the Laurentian
mountains to the gorges and fjord of Charlevoix and Saguenay.
There is so much to do; more than 200kms of groomed cycle trails, white water rafting from levels one to seven, a million lakes and beaches, forest and pristine rivers. There’s also some of the world’s best whale watching from end May to early October plus black bears and moose to see.
CHARLEVOIX
In the heart of the Laurentian Shield and covering some 6000 sq km, the UNESCO World Biosphere region of Charlevoix is home to just 30,000 people and is a land of forests, farming and tourism. Tourists can follow one or more of seven circuits; the River Route skirts the St Lawrence River while the Mountain Route offers some breathtaking scenery. Others are the Flavour Trail, Art & Culture Circuit, Heritage Circuit, Cycling Circuit and the Motorcycle Circuit. If your clients fancy a kayak and helicopter package and an evening music festival, Katabatik can offer these plus canyoning, paragliding and bike rental. For children a cruise on the Famille Dufour boat where they
can join the Captain in the
wheelhouse will appeal while Le Train du Massif de Charlevoix offers a
luxurious rail cruise from Montmorency Falls to La Malbaie and Pointe-au-Pic along the St Lawrence where
Charlevoix Eco-Mobilité (electric bikes, motocrcycles and rickshaws), le Spa des Falaises (a new Nordic spa) and Héli-Charlevois (helicopter tours over the St Lawrence, Grand-Jardins National Park and the Crater of Charlevoix) all await.
