Multiband filters Edmund Optics, a provider of optical components and tools, has introduced new multiband filters. These versatile filters are ideal for real-time live cell analysis and high speed imagery.
Each multiband filter is hard- coated and then mounted in a 25mm diameter black anodised housing for durability and ease of handling. Featuring multiple pass bands on a single filter greatly enhances fluorescence imagery and allows for easy setup for a wide range of fluorescence applications. Every filter provides high average transmission and excellent blocking. This yields the maximum brightness and contrast in any of an extensive range of applications. Multiband filters are perfectly suited for simultaneous viewing of multiple fluorophores. The filters are available in eight
different dual band models with pass band wavelengths from 387 and 480nm to 577 and 690nm. Five models of tri-band filters are offered with pass band wavelengths from 387.5, 478 and 555.5nm to 465, 537 and 623nm. Four quad-band filters are available with pass band wavelengths from 387, 485, 559.5 and 649.5nm to 446, 523.5, 600 and 667nm. Zoom lenses
Due to increased interest in radiation resistant zoom lenses for one-inch (16mm diagonal) format cameras, Resolve Optics has introduced variants of its non- browning zoom lenses that have been adapted to suit this larger format.
The novel design of Resolve Optics Model 290 motorised zoom lens provides a 6x zoom movement in a very compact form. This enables the lens to
image objects from 800mm to infinity without using add- on adapters. When focused at infinity the lens achieves high image resolution on axis at full aperture throughout the zoom range without refocusing (image tracking). Operating at f/1.8 the Model 290 provides high image resolution and minimum geometric distortion from 400- 750nm.
Resolve Optics can now also
offer its non-motorised Model 192 (6x zoom, f1.8) and motorised Model 200 (3x zoom, f2.8) non-browning lenses as one-inch format models.
The lenses will be of interest to customers wishing to replace legacy systems where the original lenses are no longer available or from users of one-inch format solid-state cameras.

GigE development environment
CVB 2011 CameraSuite MultiOS, the latest version of Stemmer Imaging’s high-performance and easy-to-install development environment for GigE Vision cameras, can now be used with a variety of operating systems. In addition to the 32-bit versions of Windows (XP, Vista, 7), the platform now also supports 64-bit Windows 7 and 64-bit Linux (Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Mint).
The new CameraSuite version is based on optimised filter drivers and ensures optimum performance in use by minimising processor load. The proven memory management concept with ring buffers has been retained together with the option of providing flexible access to the acquired images in order to utilise custom algorithms. In addition, the GenICam standard is fully implemented in the suite, ensuring that CVB remains completely hardware independent.
When using CameraSuite under
