High-resolution camera Imperx has introduced its 29 Megapixel B6620 cameras, ideal for a wide range of high-resolution video-capture applications from high-speed automated inspection of printed circuit boards to rapid 3D mapping of disaster areas. Units are available with either Gigabit Ethernet or Camera Link outputs.
suitable for automated inspection, military reconnaissance, disaster relief, automated vehicle navigation, biomedical research, and many other applications.
High resolution is important for a wide range of video-capture applications, where large areas need to be viewed in fine detail. Shutter speeds up to 1.25 x 10-5
second
freeze even the most rapid motion. Frame rates up to 2.4fps follow rapidly evolving scenes. Standard F-mount fitting is provided and the cameras have the ability to image at light levels as low as 1 lux (f/1.4), which means even dimly lit scenes can be captured.

Protective enclosures Designed for the protection of camera systems in applications with strict hygiene requirements, autoVimation’s compact Fire Salamander series of protective enclosures is suitable for use in medical technology, such as in surgery monitoring or robot-assisted surgery.
The corrosion-resistant IP67 housing is manufactured from the same V4A (1.4404) stainless steel used for surgical instruments. Featuring neither corners nor
ridges, it can be cleaned very easily. A gasket made from an FDA-approved material seals off the gap of the clamping mount, thereby preventing the accumulation of dirt. Additionally, the front panel is fitted
with a continuous seal and installed flush with the enclosure cover. After installation on a base (e.g. an operating table, a medical device etc.), all screws and threads are covered and can therefore not be contaminated. Moreover, the electropolished, very smooth surface repels dirt and germs. The special hygienic cable glands available for the Fire Salamander series do not provide any breeding ground for bacteria either: the threads are completely covered by a protective silicone casing, and
edges have been reduced and rounded. Patented heat guide/quick lock brackets ensure optimal heat dissipation from the camera to the enclosure, which is essential to prevent overheating of the camera, especially considering the low thermal conductivity of stainless steel.
Protective Fire Salamander enclosures are available for all compact cameras with a 47 x 29mm to 38 x 38mm cross- section.

The cameras’ small size (60 x 60 x 45mm), light weight (320g), wide operating temperature range (-30 to +85°C), low power consumption (3.6W at 12V) and high shock rating (10g shock at 20-200Hz, and 70g sustained acceleration) make it an ideal choice for a wide range of research and testing applications under harsh conditions. An RS232 interface allows programming the cameras with up to eight independent areas of interest. The cameras also feature 8-, 10-, 12-, or 14-bit output formats and binning of up to eight pixels horizontally and vertically for variable image resolution under automated control. Programmable long integration times of up to 16 seconds allow imaging static scenes even under extreme low-light conditions. Two models are available: the
IGV-B6620 outputs video over Gigabit Ethernet, and the ICL-B6620 over Base Camera Link.

Industrial CCD cameras JAI has introduced two 2-Megapixel industrial grade CCD cameras featuring full HDTV resolution (1,920 x 1,080p) at 64fps.
The AM-201CL (monochrome) and
AB-201CL (colour) cameras are the second set of cameras from JAI to feature high performance quad-tap CCD sensors from Kodak. Like the previously introduced 8-Megapixel cameras, the new HD cameras use an advanced automatic channel balancing algorithm that continuously adjusts gain and offset of the individual channels of the quad-tap architecture.
The cameras use the quad-tap architecture of the KAI-02150 CCD for rapid image acquisition then combine the four taps into two for monochrome or raw Bayer readout at 64fps. To simplify integration, the two taps are multiplexed via an 80MHz data clock to deliver 8-bit, 10-bit, or 12-bit output over a single-cable Camera Link base configuration.
Alternatively, the AB-201CL colour model can also perform in-camera colour interpolation, producing 24-bit RGB output at 32fps. The cameras feature user configurable AOI scanning (partial scanning), multiple binning modes (AM-201CL only), and a variety of acquisition modes, including continuous, single-frame, and multi-frame capture, plus a separate PIV mode. Advanced image pre-processing features range from auto gain, auto shutter, and auto white balancing, to pixel blemish compensation, flat field compensation, and a 256-point look- up table for gamma customisation. The HD-format models incorporate a list of industrial grade features to maximise performance in machine vision environments. These include precise sensor alignment, advanced thermal management, a built-in temperature sensor, and rugged construction with extensive shock and vibration testing performed. The AM-201CL and AB-201CL cameras support C-mount lenses. Dimensions are 55 (w) x 55 (h) x 69mm (l).
