Multi-spectral NIR camera Flir Advanced Thermal Solutions has developed a state-of-the-art multi- spectral near infrared camera for high-end R&D applications. The SC7100 NIR camera is


designed to satisfy the requirements of a wide range of science and research applications. It is a fully integrated camera offering coverage of the spectral range of 0.4-1.7µm and combines high performance thermal imaging and non-contact temperature measurements with superior data acquisition capabilities.


While most competitive NIR cameras are simply thermal imagers, the SC7100-NIR provides accurate non-contact temperature measurements. The camera is able to be calibrated for temperatures up to 3,000°C. All required


image processing electronics are embedded in the camera to deliver sharp, ready-to-use images. Other capabilities include high frame rates, flexible integration times, lock-in signal processing and spectral filtering.

FireWire cameras Point Grey has launched its Grasshopper Express GX-FW series of IEEE 1394b (FireWire-b) digital cameras.


The Grasshopper Express camera series is housed in the same compact housing as the original Grasshopper, but offers a host of new features and a new hardware architecture designed to accommodate a wide range of high speed quad-tap image sensors. The first available model, the GX-FW-10K3M-C, uses a monochrome version of the Kodak KAI-01050 1 Megapixel 1/2-inch CCD image sensor.
