Use 30-minute epoxy for the strongest bond. Hold the stabilizers tightly against the fuselage for proper alignment. Having the rubber bands both top and bottom insures the stabilizers are level.
The .60 NX peaked at 12,600 rpm using only its muffler (above left) and was difficult to tune. Attaching the MAC header and a similar tuned pipe to the MAC
1250 produced over 14,000 rpm that was “richened back” to 13,800 for flight tests (above right). This proved too lean, so 13,400 rpm was a better choice.
Another method to position the engine (at left) is to loosely install the mounts, slide the engine inside them, tighten the mounts against the crankcase and position the engine using a ¹⁄₈-inch spacer behind the spinner backplate as shown. Mark and drill the beam mounting holes. Another template is provided for cutting out the fuselage nose retract area (above). Make sure that the retracted nose wheel does not touch the wing at all or it might not extend for landing.
