and Saturday (3rd place), Combat (2nd place), and Senior awards for Profile and Precision Stunt. Saturday was the day of reckoning for Precision Stunt, Scale, and Combat, with a forecast of possible thunderstorms dropping
a spoiler in the mix. In the end, there was no rain and Mike Palko improved to 582 to take first, Dan Banjock was a scant 5.5 be- hind in second, and Bud Wieder improved to 571.5 for third place in Precision Expert Stunt—electrics in two of the top three, with
John Vlna’s electric PT-19 puts in a nice flight (above left). John would earn first place in Fun Scale with the model. George Marenka’s, A6M Zero, searches for targets in Fun Scale (above right). Carl Allendorf and George Marenka paid
tribute to the glider pilots of WW II with a C-47 that towed a separately flown Waco glider that was released in flight (below left). Ed Mason won first place in Sport Scale with his awesome B-29, (below right) with all four engines turning!
