Even More Voyages of Discovery (And Hebridean Island Cruises)

The All Leisure Group,

operators of three premium brand British cruise lines, have announced a multi-million pound investment, with big changes – and new ships – for their fleet in 2012.

F

irst up, VOYAGES OF DISCOVERY will get a second ship to go along- side the MV Discovery, with the

former Alexander von Humboldt being purchased and brought in as MV Voyager. The 550-passenger newcomer has been

extensively upgraded and will join in November 2012 to provide an even wider choice of close-cruising itineraries to destinations worldwide. Voyager (right) is a spacious vessel offering 278 cabins, 30 of which have balconies; open seating dining in three restaurants; and the personal service and comfort levels associated with Voyages of Discovery since 2003. Passengers will be able to relax in the comfortable public lounges, enjoy a drink in sumptuous Harry’s Bar or in the sunshine at the Lido Bar, or read a good book in the well-stocked Library. However Discovery will not be forgotten in these plans either. At the

same time as Voyager visits South America, the original ship will undergo an extensive upgrade during an extended dry dock. This will include complete refurbishment of some of the teak decking, public areas and cabins, plus developing other dining areas. Some 23 years after Hebridean Princess reintroduced the “Golden Age of Cruising”, HEBRIDEAN ISLAND CRUISES has announced an exciting Rhine and Danube River Cruise programme on board the upscale Royal Crown, offering the

same level of comfort and style as their chic little Scottish-based adventurer. The Royal Crown has been selected for on account of her intimate size – just 79 passengers looked after by 42 crew – her elegance and the on board ambience indicative of a small private yacht.

standard of cuisine, she echoes Hebridean’s style of luxury cruising. Each fully inclusive cruise has also been carefully planned to provide the finest tours ashore in each port of call. Completing All Leisure’s grand

makeover, from November 2011 to March 2012 the Minerva will be embarking on a visionary multi-million pound upgrade to take SWAN HELLENIC into the next era. Whilst retaining the renowned country-house ambience for just 350 like-minded passengers, the new specifica- tion will feature 23% balcony suites, the creation of spacious new public areas, an upgrade of all 181 cabin facilities and improved ship efficiency, manoeuvrability, comfort and environmental performance.
