EVENTS SELLING LONG HAUL
IS COMING... Christmas
…and just about the most important date to get in your diary is Wednesday December 14. That’s when the Selling Long Haul Christmas Party is being held at the Chelsea Pestana Bridge Hotel in London. It’ll be a great fun evening of eating, drinking and partying but also an opportunity to put something back into the industry through the raffle. Read the two short stories below and they give a crystal-clear indication of how the Family Holiday Association put last year's donation to very good use. Last year the Selling Long Haul Christmas Party raffle raised more than £1200 for the Family Holiday Association and we want to send them an even bigger cheque this year! The money raised really does make a huge difference to people's lives.
Chloe's Story Chloe had been the victim of domestic violence for many years, and her two young sons have been forced to grow up in a violent household. Chloe's support worker referred them to the Family Holiday Association. They spent

a week at the seaside in a Family Holiday Association caravan. On their return, the case worker wrote to us: "this holiday gave Chloe enough
breathing space to decide to end a violent relationship once and for all". Chloe said, simply "the holiday has empowered me to make the right
decisions for me and my children".
“We are delighted that the Selling Long Haul Christmas Party will support our work again this year. Last year you raised over £1,200 which enabled three or more severely disadvantaged UK families to get a seaside break."
John McDonald, director of the Family Holiday Association
Simone's Story Simone Carter went on holiday with her mother and her two young children, George and Kate. Her mother has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. They have never had a family holiday and desperately wanted to spend time together having fun. Kate wrote us a postcard from their break, it said: “We stayed in a caravan. Me and my mum went into the caves on the cliffs and we collected shells and I spent time with my nan. She was telling me stories of when I was little. The best thing about my holiday was: spending time with my nan". Simone added: “Words cannot describe how grateful we were, thank you to everyone for the help”
