New,
Lightweight Wellingtons From
Dickies Dickies, the World’s largest privately owned work wear manufacturer and supplier, have introduced one of the lightest and most comfortable Wellington boots on the market - the fully insulated, 100% Polyurethane, Non-Safety Landmaster (Code No: FW91105). Because Polyurethane is extremely light (40% less than PVC or rubber), the boots are especially suited for Farmers who need to wear Wellingtons all day, whether its driving around the farm or off to market, feeding the sheep or walking cattle from the fields to the parlour.
Conforming to standard BS EN ISO 20347:2004, this revised version of the
company’s previous best selling Wellington has improved resistance to oil, fats and manure, greater slip resistance and a new sole profile; moisture absorbing insoles have also been introduced which together with the lightness in weight, leave feet feeling fresh even after a long days work, dubbing them ‘The Farmer’s Slippers’. The boots are also available with special safety features (‘Super Safety
Landmaster’ Model No: FW94105), such as a composite toe cap to EN20345 (200 joules), and a steel plated mid-sole for underfoot protection. The Dickies Landmaster Wellingtons are available in green only and sizes 6 – 12

Singleton Landwork Ltd Chooses Volvo Once Again
Lancashire based Singleton Landwork Ltd has chosen another Volvo for its general contracting, drainage and pipeline installation business covering the north west of England.
The new EC55C was chosen by proprietor Gerard Singleton thanks to the superb reliability and all round performance of the ‘B’ model it replaces. “In fact we still operate another EC55B and have been really impressed with the digging geometry, balance and capability of the machine,” says Gerard. “We run a mixed fleet of machines but the EC55C from Volvo fits in well for the projects we undertake.” Typically the projects involve the laying of pipelines for water mains and drainage across agricultural land from pre construction through to complete re-instatement, with the EC55C working in conjunction with bespoke trenching equipment. Powered by a proven, direct injection Volvo diesel engine developing 35.1kw, the EC55C offers high performance, leading fuel efficiency and low emissions/noise. High performance tractive forces make levelling and backfilling quick and efficient work. The float blade provides precision finishing through a minimal, yet consistent amount of blade force and the heavy-duty travel pedals, comparable to those on heavier excavators, provide precision and an ease of operation. The machine features Volvo’s industry-leading comfortable cab for less fatigue and more production. The ergonomically-designed cab offers greater leg and foot room, making it one of the most spacious in its category. Founded in 1984, Singleton Landwork Ltd based near Chorley, Lancashire provides professional groundworks including excavations, drainage, pipeline installations fencing and timberworks throughout the north west of England. The new EC55C was sold by Howard Plant Sales Ltd, Volvo’s utility dealer for Lancashire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester.
