This design project demonstrates the potential of the VDS (Virtual Design Studio) through the use of FLICKR and SKYPE the students were effectively able to engage with Studio Starkel for design feedback. It also showed the potential of emotional design cultural case studies to effectively inform

significant starting point to focus the design process and motivate the design team.
design scenario was an
engagement in design-driven innovation. Combining the technology of a high speed platform to the design cultural needs of the client developed through the insight of the interpreters.
In order to substantiate the design as a technological epiphany the authors will be carrying out further research both within the superyacht design industry and with high net worth individuals effective

is part of an ongoing research
objective to develop an assessment tool and criteria for design-driven innovation in marine design, based on the approach of Alessi's "Formula for success".
