Clive’s Music
A yeAr on... stoppress
launches in Canada
Clive’s Music Schools, a network of rock and pop music schools that teaches children from the age of seven upwards how to play an instrument, has sold a franchise in Canada. This is a major development for the network and Clive’s Music is very keen to place further international outlets across the globe.
Adrian Goodsell, Franchise Exhibitions Manager
A year on from
launching our
new marketing campaign, we’ve seen the show grow in terms of exhibitors, feature areas and visitor numbers as more people are considering franchising. Banks, too, are committed to helping established and proven businesses by lending, as seen in Lloyds TSB Commercial, NatWest and HSBC’s continued support of the shows. Since re-launching our marketing campaign, we have put the message out there: franchising makes running your own business possible. There is no one size fits all in franchising – rather, we are bringing people to the shows that range from young parents wanting a flexible business to high-level business investors, as seen with the introduction of VIPs.
Pizza at the touch of a button
Domino’s Pizza has launched a new free iPad app to enable pizza lovers to order in a matter of swipes. Developed by Somo, the iPad app is the latest mobile addition to Domino’s ordering methods and sits alongside its existing iPhone and Android apps. iPad users simply need to enter their postcode and the new app will automatically locate the nearest Domino’s store. Users can then scroll through a carousel style menu to
select their favourite pizzas, sides, desserts and drinks.
Simon Wallis, sales and marketing director for Domino’s, said: “Sales of iPads are currently growing faster than iPhones and with the introduction of our new ordering app, we are keen to capitalise on this opportunity. We have achieved fantastic sales to date through mobile channels – our iPhone app generated £10 million in pizza sales in just eight months.”
As more and more franchise networks mature, the rate of which franchise resales are being bought and sold has risen dramatically. Last year, the bfa NatWest Franchise Survey reported that seven out of 10 franchises bought in the last two years were, in fact, a resale. We have responded to this demand by developing the franchise resales area at the shows. The development of this feature will be key as resales become more commonplace across the industry. We’ve also worked hard to ensure the seminars are top quality and educate visitors about franchising, so they can make an informed decision about which franchise to buy.
No other franchise exhibition organiser has 19 years’ experience of the sector or a long-term relationship with the bfa to deliver the events the market needs. We’re fully committed to helping franchisors grow their networks as well as listening to our clients’ needs. Have a great show!
