Dan Archer Home Instead Senior Care


Home Instead has appointed


Dan Archer as head of marketing. The appointment forms part of master franchisor Trevor Brocklebank’s strategic plans for growth as the company approaches the sale of its 100th franchise territory.


Dan, who has a degree in marketing, is an experienced marketer and brings with him a wealth of experience in the franchise market place.


He has worked for Signs Express as Group Marketing Manager and has also worked for the British Franchise Association (bfa) where he held the joint role of head of marketing and deputy director general.


Most recently Dan was a director of franchise business X-Press Legal Services and was also a non-executive member of the bfa board, most recently chairing its finance committee. Dan added: “I was delighted to be approached by Trevor; it is a terrific opportunity to join an already well-established brand at a critical point in its growth.”


Chris Gillam & Nina Moran-Watson New venture


Nina Moran-Watson, a


specialist franchise solicitor and consultant, and legal advisor to the bfa’s Quality Standards Committee, is joining forces with Chris Gillam, experienced franchisor and franchise consultant, in an exclusive new consultancy venture that combines their respective skills and talents in all aspects of franchising, offering a ‘one-stop’ service to prospective and existing franchisors. Nina and Chris will work together on consultancy projects to take new franchisors from the initial stages of development through to franchisee recruitment. They will also advise established franchisors in key areas.


Craig Henthorn Caremark


With a 15-year background in franchising, Craig Henthorn


joined as Caremark’s new managing director from Metro Rod in August. Craig said: “I already had experience in the franchise sector and knew it was something I liked. Caremark is a big company and is set to become a massive one in the near future within the care industry. It’s very ethical, its objectives are clear and achievable; something I was looking for in a company.”

Jamie McMullan joined EstatesDirect.com as


Franchise Network Director. Jamie has 28 years’ experience in the estate agency industry, 20 years of which have been involved in franchising. During his career he has been instrumental in assisting in the launch of some of the largest estate agency franchises in the UK, including Bairstow Eves Countrywide, Century 21 UK and Hunters Franchising.


Tony Goacher & Kasia Baldwin Driver Hire


Driver Hire has appointed


Tony Goacher as its new franchise sales director, previously for the south-east region. Kasia Baldwin has been appointed as franchise marketing manager, having previously held the position of marketing manager at the company.


Guy Outram activitymix


Guy joined activitymix in September to provide business


development support for London-based franchisees.

A former golf teaching professional, Guy worked in a business development role with PPC Worldwide, the largest provider of Employee Assistance Programmes throughout the world.

Karen, a former hospitality


manager, and Dave, who previously was new openings manager for Starbucks, are now franchise development managers at Cafe2U.


Don Carmichael Revive!


One of the world’s experts on automotive paint techniques


has joined the Revive! training team. Don Carmichael spent 21 years in the automotive division of DuPont, travelling all over the world to train vehicle manufacturers on bodywork paint and techniques. During his career he advised the Jaguar, Williams and McLaren F1 teams and latterly was involved with the IMI on the accreditations side as centre co-ordinator of the DuPont Academy. He took voluntary redundancy from DuPont three years ago and says the opportunity at Revive! came at the perfect time.


“I had begun looking for a new challenge, so when I was invited to bring my skill set to Revive! it didn’t take long to make up my mind. Revive! is clearly going places and I am looking forward to being part of it, getting out and about helping the technicians with accreditation.”
