Get enterprising


The government has announced the location of 11 new enterprise zones to boost local growth and create more than 30,000 jobs by 2015. The zones will be in some of the largest cities, including Manchester, Birmingham, Merseyside and Newcastle, as well as inviting applications for 10 more in other areas.


Businesses will benefit from cheaper business rates, superfast broadband and lower levels of planning control.

More than three quarters of UK office workers would turn a blind eye to malpractice in the office and fail to report it, according to the latest research from the Federation Against Software Theft. The research also found that two thirds of British workers are unaware of the law when it comes to protecting whistleblowers in the workplace.
