iVolt variable voltage optimisation technology saves up to 30% more than fixed reduction units

The iVolt® is a variable voltage optimisation unit that uses unique microprocessor, thyristor and transformer technologies to maximise energy savings. The iVolt has an integrated IRT Energy Monitor® (patent pending : PAT APP 110181.0) which tracks energy savings in real time making it the only voltage optimisation product that can provide on-going energy savings data in real time rather than relying on “theoretical modelling assumptions”.

Unlike commonly available variable reduction units, the iVolt is solid, has no moving parts and requires no maintenance. Accurate stabilised output maximises all the savings possible in a typical UK site, with savings of up to 26%.

iVolt Ltd. is part of the Sollatek group (ISO9001:2008 Accredited company) , one of the world’s foremost makers of specialist products to protect electrical and electronic equipment. The iVolt® has been designed by a 20 strong team of R&D engineers and manufactured at Sollatek’s own factories.

Manhal Allos, iVolt Managing Director, founded Sollatek in 1983. The company has offices in 14 countries and an active distribution network in a further 24. The group turnover is $30million.

According to Manhal Allos, “The iVolt® is unique in maximising savings by delivering the optimum stabilised output and keeping it constant at this level (+/-1.5%). Unlike fixed reduction units, there is no risk of under-voltage and adds superior power quality by smoothing out all variations in the supply, further enhancing the output by balancing all 3 phases.” The IRT will measure the savings accurately in real time by alternating optimisation on/off using an agreed pre-set profile. Data can be delivered over a Serial or Ethernet cable and or GPRS for remote monitoring.

Image Farm food manufacturing plant has recently fitted an iVolt. Andy Bowers, Production Manager says: “The reason we installed the iVolt is due to the key benefits for us. We are saving on electricity and have potential savings on

maintenance costs due to the improved power quality made possible by stabilisation. The iVolt looks like a win win for the business as early indications show savings to be in excess of 15% ensuring a comfortable return on investment in less than 3 years”.

iVolt will be on stand E100 at Energy Solutions 2011, widely regarded as the UK’s leading energy event, 11th–12th October at London Olympia. www.ivoltsystems.co.uk

New Driver at Silverstone….

Nothing beats the atmosphere at Silverstone and this year’s British Grand Prix proved no exception, especially for one of Power Electrics Generator’s drivers, when Paul Di Resta and David Coulthard hitched a lift across the course in his truck during the F1 coverage on National TV.

For the 10th year running Power Electrics Generators, the UK’s leading independent supplier of specialist generators for sale and rental, supplied Silverstone’s event coordinator, 360 Creative Event Services, with multiple synchronizing generators ranging from 100kVA to 500kVA. The units provided power for Silverstone’s main corporate hospitality areas including; the British Racing Drivers Club, heliport power and a number of merchandising and food outlet areas. The Company also

provided on-site support for installation and decommissioning and an on-site engineer over the event days.

Power Electrics is a main dealer for Building & Facilities Management – September 2011

FG Wilson, one of worlds the largest generator companies, who design and manufacture standard and customised gensets rated from 5.5 to over 2,200 kVA.

These range from small standby sets suitable for domestic use, up to large units which are capable of feeding back into the national grid. www.powerelectrics.com
