T
he inaugural British Airways Pairs Championship event in association with Sandals took place at the end of August as
30 teams of two battled it out around the London Golf Club for a golfing trip to five star Sandals Emerald Bay, Great Exuma, Bahamas. Graham Kerr and Duncan Bland came out on top with both
players contributing evenly to the winning score. Key to their victory was some strong play on the par three holes that, due to a strong wind and the presence of water in front of the greens, played havoc with golfers all day. “We managed to stay out of the water on the par three holes and even birdie a few of them which really helped our scorecard against the rest of the field. We’ve had a fantastic day and can’t wait to try and win the final in the Bahamas,” said Kerr.

remium Golf Brands has signed a three-year deal to extend its current
distribution agreement with Cutter & Buck. The agreement will see Premium Golf Brands represent the brand in the UK, Ireland, Portugal and Spain until 2015. The team at PGB will also continue to be heavily involved in the design of garments for the UK and European markets. This agreement was signed just
as Cutter and Buck announced that, in conjunction with the rollout of its Spring 2012 lines, the company is embracing its heritage with a new brand identity including the unveiling of a modernised logo. While not straying too far from its 20-plus years’ tradition of golf-inspired wear, Cutter & Buck executives said the goal of the new initiative is to evolve its brand from niche
speciality to a global lifestyle brand. Jens Petersson, Cutter & Buck
CEO, said the championing of a new brand represents a natural evolution for the company. “Our customers know quality in
a garment, and appreciate our golf heritage – proven performance apparel, functional and comfortable styles that work on and off the course,” said Petersson. Cutter & Buck also is updating
the silhouette of its men’s apparel by introducing a slimmer fit. The change will focus on its
knit polos and woven shirts, with specific adjustments being made in body length, chest width, cross shoulder (back and front), knit polo collar and neck fit, and sleeve length and openings. Cutter & Buck said the shirts will
also sit closer to the neck to create a contemporary silhouette.
