Chanwha Pak & Brian D'Amico of Mirtec Co. Ltd., “The Global Leader in Inspection Technology,” reports continued growth in sales revenue for its North American Sales and Service Division for 2011. “We are extremely pleased that sales revenue for our North American Division in 2011 continues to signifi cantly outpace that of 2010,” stated Chanwha Pak, CEO. “We are delighted to report that H1 sales revenue grew by an impressive 43 percent with respect to that of H1 2010.” When asked to provide insight into

market trends that have contributed to this remarkable growth, Brian D’Amico, president of MIRTEC Corp stated, “Advancements within the manufacturing industry have led to ever increasing PCB density and complexity. As a direct result of this phenomenon, a growing number of EMS providers are beginning to invest in new SMT manufacturing

manufacturers have become ever more selective in purchasing new AOI technology that will provide them with a much needed competitive edge in dealing with their most demanding production requirements.” “We at MIRTEC are extremely

equipment capable of meeting today’s higher standards of productivity and accuracy. As the manufacturing process becomes more complex, there is an ever increasing probability for defects to occur on fi nished PCB assemblies. This provides an equal level of complexity for the inspection process. With this in mind,

focused upon advancements within the electronics manufacturing industry,” continued D’Amico. “Our company invests heavily in Research and Development, persistently focused on using state-of-the-art

optics, lighting and laser technology to develop the industry’s most technologically advanced inspection solutions. This, combined with an extremely talented team of sales and support professionals, has resulted in our continued expansion of market share throughout North America.”

GOEPEL electronic provides new Test and Programming Strategies for Texas Instruments DaVinci Media Processors

GOEPEL electronic, world-class JTAG/Boundary Scan vendor, has developed special VarioTAP® IP’s for TI’s DaVinci Digital Media Systems-on-Chip (DMSoC) for the TMS320DM3xx series. The user benefi ts are a signifi cant increase in fault coverage and savings in additional investments for other test and programming equipment. The preconfi gured IPs covers all DMSoC interfaces up to real-time tests of thecommunication interfaces. “Many of our customers utilize the high-performance

DaVinci processors for their multimedia applications. In addition to Boundary Scan, dynamic at-speed tests are specifi ed, now to be supported by our new VarioTAP IPs”, says Thomas Wenzel, Managing Director of GOEPEL electronics’ Boundary Scan Division. “Furthermore, standard options for fast memory media programming via LAN are available for the fi rst time, i.e. users can combine the advantage of high test depth with short process cycles on a unique platform.” The TMS320DM3xx series includes a number of

complex system-on-chip circuits, controlled via an ARM9

core. Utilizing VarioTAP® means the conversion of the integrated processor to a native design embedded test and programming controller. In addition to Boundary Scan (IEEE Std. 1149.x), the processor emulation test (PET) strategy is currently the most modern method in the area of embedded test access technologies, enabling a functional at-speed test of all peripheral interfaces of TMS320DM3xx such as USB, LAN, I2C, SPI, DDR2, UART, Video, etc. at chip, board and system level. Additionally, VarioTAP® provides the opportunity to ultra-fast program connected memory media such as NAND or Multi Media Cards (MCM) by utilising LAN based transfers. In practical usage within the high-speed mode eMMC, chips of more than 2 GB can be programmed in 169 seconds. The use of VarioTAP® does not require expert background knowledge, additional development tools or processor-specifi c pods, which makes the handling easy and uncomplicated.
