Seedcamp to judge on LaunchPad
EIG E
iG Totally Gaming’s Start-Up LaunchPad will host experts from Seedcamp, the early- stage micro seed invest- ment fund and mentoring programme for internet technology companies. Created to jumpstart
Europe’s entrepreneurial community by connecting next generation develop- ers and entrepreneurs with over 1,200 mentors from a top-tier network of company builders, Seed- camp will offer invaluable analysis for all LaunchPad entrants looking to get their new businesses off the ground.
For the last three years,
EiG’s Dragons’ Den-style Start-Up LaunchPad has provided an excellent plat- form for innovative start- ups to pitch their ideas to a panel of experts, investors and to the room full of some of the most influential names in the iGaming industry, who have then voted to select the most promising propo- sition.
FSB Tech Solutions, USM Gaming and Pas- soker are the previous three Start-Up LaunchPad winners, all of whom gained priceless industry exposure and the chance to take their products beyond concept stage and become reality.
Recalling his experi- ence of the 2010 event, Passoker managing direc- tor Stuart Carr com- mented: “With a unique idea we were very new to the industry this time last year, but the LaunchPad gave us the ideal opportu- nity to showcase our product in its early stages. As well as receiving some great feedback from the panel of experts and pick up a lot of contacts, the event also helped Pas- soker to secure a signifi- cant investor - Venatus Interactive - and gain the backing and the belief to develop our product to a stage where it is now ready to go live with marquee online operators like Victor Chandler.”
The panel of experts will include Seedcamp’s Reshma Sohoni, Valhalla Investments’ Chairman and Sportingbet founder Mark Blandford, Cash- cade founder Simon Collins of Perfect Storm Capital and Velo Partners’ Evan Hoff, and be moder- ated by Melissa Blau, director of iGaming Capital.
Odd shaped balls are the order of the month, even if they are getting thrown around on the other side of the globe.
market are already proving popular ante-post, particu- larly the sprint handicap up at Ayr. Hoof It (12/1) might run in the Ayr Gold Cup under top-weight where he will be bidding to achieve another phenomenal weight-carrying perform- ance similar to that he pro- duced in the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood.
The Champions League gets underway too. Can anyone stop the runaway Barcelona freight train? They are 7/4 to win it again. Adventurous types might be tempted by the 14/1 for Manchester City who could probably afford to buy the entire Barcelona team lock, stock and barrel!

Ante Post: What the bookies say I
t’s a great month of sport to get stuck into and have a punt. In horse-racing we
have the final classic of the season and Sea Moon has already been well backed for the St Leger after his emphatic victory in the Great Voltigeur Stakes at York. Of course, us bookies love the big handicaps and we have the Ayr Gold Cup, and at Newmarket the Betfred Cambridgeshire. We've put up a £100,000 bonus if any trainer can win the famous autumn double. In Rugby Union, the
World Cup starts on the 9 September and for us it’s anyone but Australia after laying a six figure bet. So far England are friendless in the market and we’ve not
even seen the patriotic cash. Finally, September sees the start of the Champions League which is always great for mid-week busi- ness. Barca have already been well punted and we already have a big liability on the current Champions.
MARK PEARSON Head of media Betfred
The football season is now well and truly underway with the biggest clash of the month coming at Old Traf- ford where Man United welcome title rivals Chelsea. The Premier League champions have begun the season in fine form and this will be one of the biggest tests of new Blues boss Andre Villas-
Boas’ short career at Stam- ford Bridge.
The Rugby World Cup kicks off this month with all eyes turning to New Zealand - the ante-post book has been extremely busy with plenty of money going in favour of Ireland despite their unconvincing pre- tournament performances. However, our worst result is New Zealand - the All Blacks have regularly dis- appointed at World Cups, but they should be very dif- ficult to beat in their own backyard.
Sea Moon is certain to go off a short-priced favourite in the St Leger and deservedly so after his hugely impressive perform- ance in the Great Voltigeur at York. Sir Michael Stoute has only won the race once,
but this son of Beat Hollow looks a top class performer and he should have too much for the likes of Blue Bunting and Census.

The Rugby World Cup won’t be a huge betting event because it is taking place in New Zealand, with funny kick-off times from a UK point of view, but we have loads of mad-keen rugby punters so we’re still expecting to be kept busy. At the moment our cus- tomers are lumping on Aus- tralia (5/1) and England (12/1).
On the horse racing front, both the Ayr Gold Cup and the Cambridgeshire at New-
Whilst the domestic foot- ball season gathers momen- tum, it’s the oval ball game that provide this month’s highlights. With the start of the Rugby Union World Cup Finals on 9 September, we have high hopes of a boost in turnover especially if the England side get off to a good start. Although the Kiwis are deservedly odds on favourites, we anticipate solid support for the home Nations. We will focus heavily on promoting the Top Tournament Tryscorer market, which saw an unex- pected level of interest last time around in 2007. The final classic of the flat season the St Leger, as well as the Ayr Gold Cup, will provide plenty of inter- est for our horse racing cus- tomers. Whilst on the remainder of the sporting front, the climax of the cricket and Formula 1 seasons will attract good money in the coming weeks.
