Top ABUS Customers Top performing ABUS customers who have taken on ABUS Pfaffenhain (APf) special sections are destined for an exclusive tour of APf’s state-of-the-art manufacturing unit and enjoy some unforgettable sight-seeing in Germany. Planned by ABUS Sales Director David Hudson, the total party of 16, including security 14 retailers and 2 ABUS Regional Sales Managers, Daniel Bebb and Neil Lafferty, will be taking to the air on Sunday 16th October and returning Wednesday 19th October 2011. As well as the tour of the APf factory, these top APf customers and their ABUS charges will explore Germany’s cosmopolitan capital, Berlin, and the historic city of Dresden. During the three nights stay, the travelling party will be under the expert guidance of ABUS Pfaffenhain’s Export Director Michael Meissner.

The Irwin College Challenge 2011/12
– Use The Best, Be The Best IRWIN Tools, manufacturer of professional hand tools and power tool accessories, is to launch a major new initiative to support construction students and apprentices – the IRWIN COLLEGE CHALLENGE.
Launching on 1st September 2011 and building on the success of the current Challenge IRWIN campaign, which engages thousands of professional tradesman, the IRWIN COLLEGE CHALLENGE is open to all construction colleges across the UK & Ireland. The aim is to find both the IRWIN College of the Year and the IRWIN Apprentice of the Year, as well as giving both students and colleges the opportunity to win thousands of pounds worth of tools. Colleges will be able to nominate themselves from 1st September 2011 onwards via the campaign microsite at
www.irwin.co.uk/colleges Each will be given a free set of promotional materials and profile for their college on the microsite, where they will be encouraged to drive votes for their application. Voting will take place between January and March 2012 and the college with the highest number of votes from each region will receive £1000 worth of IRWIN Tools, and a visit from the IRWIN Field Product Speclialists Team. Those colleges will then go on to represent that region as a finalist, putting forward their top three apprentices to compete in the IRWIN College Challenge Grand Final in May 2012.
Each finalist will then complete a timed challenge of skill and accuracy, with the winning college getting a complete workshop kit-out courtesy of IRWIN, while the highest performing apprentice at the finals wins £2000 cash. IRWIN’s Senior Channel Marketing Manager, Paul Jakeway said: “The IRWIN College Challenge 2011/12 builds on the strong relationships we have built with construction colleges across the UK and Ireland, over many years. It will allow us to engage directly with apprentices and continues one of our core beliefs, that it is vital to support the future of our industry.”
