CW Plant Take Tier 3
Generators From SDMO SDMO Energy Limited, the UK arm of the power generation giant SDMO Industries, has confirmed a significant order for a fleet of their flagship rental specification generators. This latest order has been placed by Charles Wilson Engineers (CW Plant), a leading UK plant rental firm, operating nationwide through twelve strategically situated depots based around London & the Home Counties, through Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Sussex & Kent. The order was fulfilled directly to CW Plant from SDMO Energy based in Middlewich, Cheshire. The order is for ten 30kVA, 40kVA and 100kVA Rental Compact sets fitted onto road tow trailers. The 30 and 40kVA sets are powered by the latest Mitsubishi diesel engine and the 100kVA is fitted with a John Deere engine. The sets are managed by a NEXYS controller which monitors; oil pressure, coolant temperature, failure to start, over speed charging alternator fault and low fuel level.
Each set is fitted with low level sockets and an ‘easy on’ hardwire facility, with individual doors. Engine access is via wide opening galvanised doors and thoughtfully added retainer clips. There is also a separate access door to clean and maintain the radiator. Environmental issues, such a reduced noise pollution and diesel spillage has not been overlooked. These new rental generators have whisper-quiet sound levels and the long-run fuel tank is fully bunded, making these sets ideally suited for
producing clean power for many types of commercial use, including outside events and on construction sites. Transportation and off-loading is made simple via the, nylon lined, fork access pockets inserted into the base which protect the set from damage. The central lifting eye does not protrude from the overall bounds of the set and consequently sits flush within the canopy surround, with a foot step added to enable safe access to the lifting mechanism. Their environmental qualities are galvanised by confirmation that all of these Rental Compact generators comply with Stage 3 of the European Engine Emissions Directives 97/68/EC, 2002/88/EC, 2004/26/EC and 2006/105/EC, which came into force during 2011.

With The VT1 A-Plant, one of the UK’s largest plant and equipment hire companies; has confirmed an order for a fleet of mobile floodlighting systems from the leading lighting supplier, TowerLight UK Limited.
The order is for 100 units of the environmentally biased site lighting tower, the
VT-1 Eco, supplied directly from TowerLight UK’s Milton Keynes headquarters. These fuel saving lighting towers are produced by the leading and environmentally aware lighting manufacturer, TowerLight s.r.l, based near Milan, Italy. The VT-1 Eco is the latest variant of TowerLight’s flagship lighting product, the VT-1 SuperLight, but with added environmental benefits and cost saving possibilities. A-Plant positioned a number of these sets at the recent F1 race held at Silverstone, providing proper, dependable illumination around the site, allowing the race enthusiasts to move safely around the campsites during the night.
The principal feature of
the VT-1 Eco is an advanced light detection sensor and auto stop/start mechanism that automatically switches on the unit when the ambient light has descended to a predetermined level. In reverse, the sensor will close down the lighting set when sufficient brightness rises. This completely alleviates the need to employ a team of
operatives, travelling around a site manually starting and stopping each individual lighting set, at night and in the morning.
